It took me forever, but I have finally written up a list of my top 40 fave songs of all time. It was meant to be a top 10, but things got a little out of hand. I will be blogging one of these a day, in no particular order.

I begin with the absolute genius that is George Michael’s Fast Love. I think I must have a soft spot for amazing dance tunes with heartbreaking lyrics. It’s like you can boogie away the pain or something. Really, it’s about loneliness. He breaks it down in the bridge:

In the absence of security
I made my way into the night
Stupid cupid keeps on calling me
But i see nothing in his eyes
I miss my baby…
I miss my baby tonight
So why don’t we make a little room
In my BMW babe
Searching for some peace of mind
Hey I’ll help you find it

I think every broken hearted person has been in this situation at some point or another, if not quite so graphically. It’s a dark place.

This week I produced the video for new Mikill Pane/Ursa Minor (Little Bear) track Cutback/Fast Forward, in East London. Shooting took 13 hours, should be edited within a month. It was a fun day but a very cold one! You can listen to the track here.

I personally learnt tonnes during the pre production for this shoot. It was also my first London shoot which presented a few unexpected challenges. It was the 5th shoot I have produced with Gaika Tavares directing, and this time I brought in Kate Bannister as camera op, and David Davies as DOP, both of whom did an amazing job. I can’t wait to see it finished!

I will be shooting the video for this track soon, can’t wait.

The Badderman is dead. Tony Bennett of Murkage Cartel is back with a new mix and a new name to boot - Bad Osiris.
